Eamonn Holmes put his GB News co-host, Isabel Webster, on blast before apologising for her ‘potty mouth’ on Thursday’s show.

The 62-year-old presenter made his debut on the channel at the beginning of the year as he launched his new breakfast show alongside Isabel after leaving ITV.

During today’s show, Eamonn introduced their next topic of conversation which was over the upcoming package on a rare penny, before he poked fun at Isabel’s age and asked whether she remembered when pennies were illegal.

Isabel stressed that she was born after the new currency system was introduced in 1971.

‘Funny, you look much older,’ joked Eamonn, but this didn’t sit well with Isabel as she quickly hit back with: ‘oh f**k…’

The newsreader quickly put her hand over her mouth in shock before she apologised profusely, but once the show wrapped Eamonn took to Twitter and addressed the live blunder.

If u saw us at 9.18 .. no need to explain. Oops @IsabelWebster_ the look says it all but she, indeed “we” apologise 🙏🙏🙏. Not that I have anything to apologise for but Sometimes we forget we are on air. 🙄🙄🙄 I’ll be back tomorrow and hopefully Potty mouth Webster will be too pic.twitter.com/xRiAQF1GlX

The 39-year-old presenter responded to Eamonn’s tweet and showed remorse for using foul language, but emphasised that the incident brightened ‘a lot’ of people’s day.

She wrote: ‘By your calculations you had me aged 54 not 39.. a girl can only take so much!! Still… I shouldn’t (half/almost/not really/well held?) swear, so I apologise too.

‘Although, from what I can see on here, it was the highlight of the show for a lot of people.’

Before GB News, Eamonn and his wife Ruth Langsford were regular presenters on ITV’s daytime show This Morning,

Despite the excitement, the star revealed his evenings were a little more difficult following the big move.

He explained: ‘The evenings can be a bit more difficult. My big dread about what’s ahead is insomnia and what feels like a “sleep hangover” the next day.’

Breakfast With Eamonn And Isabel airs weekdays from 6am to 9.30am on GB News.
