Miami Dolphins Spring Into Off-Season Action, Target Major Signings From 49ers and Cowboys

The Miami Dolphins organization has been through the dirt in recent weeks in one way or another. The firing of coach Brian Flores has come under the microscope following his lawsuit against the entire league. But it seems the organization is shifting focus towards the upcoming season if recent reports ring true.

The Dolphins are looking to get a jumpstart in the offseason and recruit the best among the available coaching candidates. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Dolphins have scheduled interviews to recruit their next franchise head coach. The leading candidates in contention for the Dolphins’ top job include 49ers OC Mike McDaniel and Cowboys OC Kellen Moore.

Both candidates will be giving their interviews for a second time this weekend. It will then be up to the Miami hierarchy to reach their decisions based on compatibility and plans both will be bringing to the table. It appears a neck and neck race between both candidates.

49ers’ offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel arrived in South Florida last night for his HC interview with the Dolphins today.

Cowboys’ offensive coordinator Kellen Moore scheduled for his HC interview with the Dolphins on Saturday.

Miami Dolphins nearing HC appointment

The Dolphins with the Texans and the Saints remain the franchises still looking at potential candidates for their top position. The decision for Dolphins would be a tough one and in a good way for their South Beach fans. Both candidates have admirers around the league for differing reasons and their coaching methods.

The Dolphins will look at the personality that Mike McDaniel will be bringing with his out-of-the-box coaching methods. The mere mention of working under 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan is in itself a testament to his abilities as a coach. On the flipside, Kellen Moore was one of the best OCs in all of the NFL last season. The Cowboys‘ offense did rank at the top for points and total offense in the league.

The plan for the Dolphins organization is clear to bring in someone who can play an exciting offensive brand of football. It is a tough choice and one that QB Tua Tagovaiola will be looking closely and analyzing himself.
