Revealed: The Crazy Amount Spotify Has Lost Over the Joe Rogan Saga

Joe Rogan and Spotify saga has taken the world by storm. They have been in the news for the past few days, and it doesn’t seem like it’s going away anytime soon.

The long-time UFC commentator has been subject to a lot of criticism. Many singers and songwriters have already removed or threatened to remove their music from the streaming platform. Their accusation is that Rogan is spreading vaccine misinformation on the Joe Rogan Experience.

Neil Young was the first person to remove his music from Spotify. He said that the platform was supporting anti-vax podcasts like the Joe Rogan Experience. Since then, Spotify has lost over $2 billion in market value. Their shares dropped 6 percent from January 26 to 28 and this happened after Young removed his music.

Many celebrities have since joined the two. David Crosby, Graham Nash, India Arie, and Mary Trump, along with a few more, have left the platform. However, Daniel Ek, the Spotify CEO has backed the deal with Rogan. According to him, he doesn’t agree with everything Rogan says. But, he also said, “If we want even a shot at achieving our bold ambitions, it will mean having content on Spotify that many of us may not be proud to be associated with. Not anything goes, but there will be opinions, ideas, and beliefs that we disagree with strongly and even makes us angry or sad.”

The Joe Rogan Experience beat mainstream media

Recently, the Joe Rogan Experience reached new heights. Not so long ago, the statistics revealed the podcast drew the most viewers per show. According to analytics pulled from Spotify and Nielsen Holdings, JRE draws 11 million viewers per show.
