‘No More Tennis’: Daniil Medvedev Tries His Luck At a New Sport
2021 US Open champion Daniil Medvedev was upset after his loss in Australian Open final. He played wonderful tennis throughout the tournament, overcoming the challenges of Stefanos Tsitsipas, Nick Kyrgios, and Felix Auger-Aliassime. But the final test seemed too difficult to pass, as Rafael Nadal won the thriller in 5 sets.
Daniil experienced rather hostile treatment from the crowd in the tournament, but kept on playing against the odds. He was disappointed with the same after the final and even said that “the kid is not dreaming anymore” about his relationship with the sport.

The Russian professional recently shared his pictures, trying to get into F1. He also later posted videos of himself going around the karting track, and paid his respect to F1 drivers like Max Verstappen as he found the experience a “tough” one. He was with F1 driver Alex Albon of the UK (who drives for Williams) and compatriot and former F1 driver, Daniil Kvyat.
The tweet read, “No more Tennis! My training for F1 has officially started.”

Despite the heartbreak in Australia and the F1 training, Medvedev‘s comments about leaving tennis are, in all probability, only a joke.

Lack of fan support and some frustrating events in the inaugural Slam might have given him second thoughts about moving away from tennis, but the karting is probably just time-out before preparing for upcoming tournaments.
Medvedev is following the footsteps of tennis greats
Multisport talent is very common nowadays; athletes often engage in other sports for fitness or relaxation.
The Swiss maestro Roger Federer also used to play badminton, cricket, and basketball. Though he didn’t pursue any of those sports as a profession, it certainly helped him to enhance his coordination.
21-Grand Slam Winner Rafael Nadal was also fond of football and played in his early years. WTA World No. 1 Ashleigh Barty famously left the Tour to purse cricket for a while.
Her fellow Australian and fan-favorite Nick Kyrgios is fond of basketball and plays occasionally.
