Israel Adesanya Wants to Mirror Michael Jordan Ahead of UFC 271: “Because I Come in There F**king Showing Off and Dancing”

Israel Adesanya is one of the best strikers anyone has ever seen in MMA. His kickboxing skills are second to none and every time he enters the octagon, people get to witness that.

‘The Last Stylebender’ is a former kickboxing champion and transitioned into MMA smoothly. He has been unstoppable since making the switch and is a dominant middleweight. He is the current UFC middleweight champion and is on his way to lapping the division. According to him, whenever he goes to fight, the most important thing for him is to give people an experience. He wants to give people the same feeling they had while watching Michael Jordan.

He said, “People talk about the never-ending debate between Michael Jordan and LeBron James. Those who were around when Jordan was playing, they’re like, yeah, this is nice, but you don’t remember the feeling of watching him do what he did. So, I want to give people a certain feeling when I fight, whether they love me or hate me.”

“Because I come in there f**king showing off and dancing. I want them to remember that feeling.”

Adesanya will have the opportunity to give that feeling at UFC 271. He will once again enter the octagon to defend his middleweight title against the former king of the division, Robert Whittaker. This is a rematch of their UFC 243 fight, where Adesanya knocked ‘The Reaper‘ out.

Israel Adesanya is okay with lapping the division again

Israel Adesanya has lapped the UFC middleweight division. The Nigerian-born New Zealand MMA fighter has defeated every top name that has come in his way and got his hand raised.

However, according to him, he is ready to do it again. Recently, while talking about the rematch with Robert Whittaker, he said that rematches don’t bother him. In fact, he would happily have a few more rematches. He said, “I lapped the division at the top and I did it again. It motivates me, so if my next three fights are rematches, it doesn’t bother me.”

Adesanya has looked very comfortable in all his fights at middleweight, and if he keeps up his form, there might not be an end to his run.
