Where Does Chidi Njokuani’s 16 Second Knockout Land Him on the Fastest UFC Debut Finishes?

Chidi Njokuani announced himself to the world in some style. The 33-year-old MMA fighter made his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night 200 against Marc-André Barriault. ‘Power Bar’ had the experience of fighting in the UFC going into the fight and was on a two-fight win streak.

However, the Dana White’s Contender Series alumnus wasn’t fazed by the occasion. ‘Chidi Bang Bang’ landed two shots on his opponent and sent him crashing to the mat. He finished Barriault in just 16 seconds and with the win, also made a record. The 16-second win was the second-fastest finish in a UFC debut at middleweight.

The fastest finishes on UFC debut

The Ultimate Fighting Championship is one of the biggest MMA organizations in the world. Making your debut at the promotion can be a daunting task. However, there are some fighters that don’t let the occasion of the debut get the better of them and make a statement.

Here’s a look at the fighters who have the fastest finishes on the UFC debut.

Todd Duffee vs. Tim Hague

Todd Duffee came into the UFC as one of the biggest prospects. The heavyweight fighter was 5-0 when the UFC signed him and didn’t disappoint on his debut. He took on Tim Hague and knocked him out in just seven seconds.

It is still tied for the fastest finish in a debut in the UFC.

Terrance McKinney vs. Matt Frevola

Former DWCS alumni Terrance McKinney made his UFC debut at UFC 263. After fighting through a lot of hardships, he finally made it to the big leagues and was able to put a stamp of authority on his debut. He took on Matt Frevola and knocked him out in the first round.

With the win, he matched Duffee’s record of the fastest finish in a UFC debut.

Makwan Amirkhani vs. Andy Ogle

Amirkhani came into the UFC with an impressive 9-2 record. The featherweight competitor made his UFC debut against Andy Ogle and made an instant impact. He wasted no time and landed a beautiful flying knee which stumbled his opponent.

After that, it was just a matter of time. The fight finished in just 8 seconds.
