“I Couldn’t Get the B*stard to the Ground”- Jack Hermansson Releases Statement After His Loss Against Sean Strickland at UFC Fight Night 200

UFC middleweight fighter Jack Hermansson addressed his fans after a split decision loss against Sean Strickland last weekend.

The number six middleweight contender ‘The Joker, took on the number seven ranked fighter ‘Tarzan’ at UFC Vegas 47. Hermansson came on the back of his previous unanimous decision victory last year in May.

Unfortunately, after a five-round war inside the UFC octagon, ‘The Joker’ suffered a split decision loss against the American fighter. This was his second loss in three years. After the event, ‘The Joker’ took to his official Instagram account to release a statement.

In the post, the Norway-born fighter wrote, I’m sorry fans, about tonight. I had a bad performance, and I lost the fight. It wasn’t pretty, or technically sound.”

“I couldn’t get the bast*rd to the ground. Sorry, Sean, this one went to a decision. Best of luck to murder your next competition, ” he added.

Interestingly, his opponent “Tarzan” played it cool after acknowledging the post. In the comments, he wrote, “Thank you man, it was an honor. I hope we meet again! True warrior …”

This win marked Strickland’s sixth victory in a row, and the American middleweight fighter has asked for a shot at the title next.

Sean Strickland wants a shot at the UFC gold

The American fighter is currently on a six-fight undefeated streak. He has been with the UFC since 2014. However, he is yet to receive a title shot in the promotion.

Recently, in the octagon interview with Michael Bisping, ‘Tarzan’ said, “I would love to get a title shot, you know. As UFC knows, Mick Maynard is a great guy. I am a company man. I will fight who you put in front of me.”

“But if they have the bill, I will be very happy. Whoever has the gold next Whittaker, Adesanya. I would love to get that fight,” Strickland concluded.

The promotion has set a title rematch between champion Israel Adesanya and Robert Whittaker at UFC 271, which will take place this weekend. And it will be interesting to see who the UFC gives a title shot next against the winner of the title rematch.
