Cleaning hack sees drivers using VEGETABLE that’s bound to be in your kitchen to remove stains from car seats

A CLEANING ‘hack’ could help drivers get stubborn stains out of the car seats – by using a vegetable from their kitchens.

Potatoes contain powerful enzymes that can help dissolve dirt.

It can be difficult to prevent your car seats and carpets from getting mud stains, particularly in winter.

Advice website Quick and Dirty Tips advises drivers to use the wet side of a cut potato to clean their cars.

Drivers are advised to clean up as much dirt as they can before rubbing the stains using the cut side of a raw potato.

Once the area is dry, cleaners are advised to blot the dirty area with a wet rag.

Other car-cleaning hacks include using baking soda, which also contains enzymes which absorb odours and moisture.

Drivers should sprinkle it on the carpet and upholstery of their cars about an hour before they hoover it.

A thick straw can be used to clean hard-to-reach areas between seats and in cup holders.

Straws can be taped inside small hoover attachments and suck up dust and dirt from awkward spaces.
