Good Morning Britain hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard had a lot of fun on Friday’s instalment, as the latter teased his co-star over her statement look.
Ben and Kate regularly present the show together on a Friday, but it was the Life Stories host’s bold 70s-style dress that was the focus of all the attention this morning.
Kate sported a floral patterned dress, with a bold yellow and pink collar – which didn’t go amiss by viewers or any of her co-stars.
However, Ben – who is close friend of Kate’s – made his thoughts on the eye-catching style very clear.
‘It’s a statement piece. It’s stating don’t look over there, look over here!’
But Kate replied: ‘She’s a brilliant new designer who’s probably never going to work again. It’s Friday, I thought, “be cheerful!”‘
Ben cheekily read out some tweets about Kate’s outfit on GMB (Picture: ITV)
Later on, he referenced the piece again, joking: ‘I think everyone’s all in a quiver because of Kate’s collar, which is still making a splash.
‘It’s certainly brightening up this morning,’ he added, before reading out some comments from viewers.’
The dress was compared to Spongebob, pizza slices and a Battenberg cake, amongst other items.
Ben went on to read one tweet which compared Kate to CBeebies legend Mr Tumble, as Richard Arnold joked: ‘Does SpongeBob want them back?’
The presenter revealed she was going for a 70s look, as she showed off the strong collar.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
