“Haven’t Decided”: Mikaela Shiffrin Gives a Shocking Update on her Gold Medal Contention at Beijing Winter Olympics 2022

Things have been going quite downhill for Mikaela Shiffrin in the Winter Olympics. The results of the first two events were drastic for her. She was disqualified in the giant slalom event for not completing. Again, in the slalom event, she crashed as soon as she started.

However, things looked up a bit for her during the Super G events. Even if she was far from the podium, she was able to complete the event with a good performance.

But looks like this hasn’t boosted her confidence yet. Shiffrin has revealed that she is still unsure whether she will compete in the downhill event on Tuesday.

Are things still bleak for Mikaela Shiffrin?

On February 12, Mikaela participated in the training for the downhill event scheduled on February 15, Tuesday. She did quite well and came in 9th position. This was not bad, but still low for her own standards.

Now, Shiffrin has revealed that she is not yet sure if she will compete in the actual event on Tuesday.

“I haven’t decided for sure,” said Shiffrin. Although the training gave her a bit of confidence, looks like it still isn’t enough for her.

Mikaela Shiffrin after today’s downhill training run, on whether she’ll compete in that event Tuesday:

“I haven’t decided for sure. I mean, today gives me a little bit more positivity. I would love to race this downhill, so that’s the plan.”

“I mean, today gives me a little bit more positivity. I would love to race this downhill, so that’s the plan.”

Being the Gold medal prospect, she would obviously love to compete but seems like she will need a little more push to actually go ahead and do it.

The Beijing Olympics have been harsh for Shiffrin. After her previous performances at the giant slalom and slalom. Mikaela felt completely defeated and exhausted.

We hope the athlete can get back up from these losses and move ahead. She has been dominant in the past year, and she has got it in her herself to put this behind her. Fans are hopeful that they get to see Shiffrin on Tuesday.
