Liam Payne reveals son Bear, four, came up with naughty ploy to get out of going to school

LIAM Payne has revealed that son Bear, 4, came up with a cheeky excuse for getting out of attending school.

Speaking on a Instagram Live Q&A session with fans, Liam revealed how Bear – who he shares with ex Cheryl – claimed to have covid to get a day off at home.

When a fan asked how Bear is doing, Liam replied: “Bear is good.

“He went to school the other day and he didn’t want to go, and I think he learned that if you have covid you don’t have to go to school, which is quite sneaky but also quite smart.

“He figured out if he pretended to say ‘I’ve got the virus’ then he would get the day off school.

“Apparently it went so far as to him telling the teacher… I didn’t even know what a virus was when I was four… Sneaky, he did get a telling off for it, but I kind of have to give him props for it as well, because my pretending to get off school when I was a kid was not that extravagant…

“I’m not proud of him in a way, but I’m happy with the level of deviousness, childish deviousness.”

Liam, 28, and the Cheryl, 38, welcomed Bear in 2017 while they were dating.

They split in 2018 after two years of dating, but regularly spend time together as they co-parent the four-year-old.

Liam previously spoke about his joy after impressing son Bear by being involved with Disney movie, Ron’s Gone Wrong.

Liam, who co-parents the four-year-old with fellow pop star Cheryl, says: “Who doesn’t want to be involved in a Disney project? But the biggest appeal was the chance for Bear to see something I’m doing and really enjoy it.

“I was FaceTiming him on the way to the premiere this week. I’d had a little toy of Ron with me and he was like, ‘Wow, it’s your movie’. He’s overjoyed.

“He’s been watching my music video for Sunshine (the movie’s title track) on repeat this week. It must be really annoying for Cheryl having that playing around the house all the time as it really gets into your head. But it’s amazing to have him be so into something.

“He and I are going to a private cinema to watch the film together and that will be amazing.”
