Chelsea join elite group of just FIVE European clubs to have won every major trophy – with Real Madrid and Barca absent
CHELSEA’S victory over Palmeiras in the Club World Cup final means they have now won EVERY major trophy.
It has taken Roman Abramovich 18 years to complete the collection, having missed out on the Club World Cup in 2012.

Chelsea lost to Corinthians on that occasion but a Kai Havertz penalty was the difference in an extra-time win over Palmeiras.
The German also scored the winner in the Champions League final – the victory which led The Blues to qualify for the Club World Cup.
And in becoming world champions Chelsea have become part of an elite club – only four other European teams have won every major trophy.
It is a difficult feat to achieve with Real Madrid missing out because they never won the Cup Winners Cup.
That means they will never be part of the group which boasts Manchester United, Juventus, Bayern Munich and Ajax as members.
Liverpool and AC Milan are also not included despite their huge success in Europe, winning the Champions League six and seven times respectively.

Barcelona are also absent but could join the group if they win the Europa League this year – it is the first time they have taken part in the competition since 2004.
Chelsea have now won 28 major honours, 19 of which have come during Abramovich’s reign.
They could potentially add four more trophies to the list this season, starting with the League Cup when they meet Liverpool in the final later this month.
The Premier League looks unlikely but Thomas Tuchel will be determined to defend the club’s status as European champions and will fancy an FA Cup win with United and Arsenal already out of the competition.
