VIDEO: Houston MMA Fans Loudly Chant ‘Free Joe Rogan’ at UFC 271 in Houston
Toyota Center at Houston, Texas witnessed one of the craziest spectacles in UFC history as the arena audience came together to cheer for Joe Rogan.
The second UFC pay-per-view of the year, UFC 271, was initially scheduled to be called by UFC’s staple trio Jon Anik, former UFC double champion Daniel Cormier and longtime UFC color commentator and podcast host Joe Rogan. But just hours before the event, UFC announced Rogan would not be a part of the broadcast because of schedule conflicts.

However, the MMA fans of Space City Houston were having none of it and started sloganeering for Rogan in a chorus. The audience chanted “Free Joe Rogan” at the top of their voice as the shouts filled the whole arena, and the only thing that could be heard was Joe Rogan.
On Saturday, news came out that former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping would replace Rogan to make his PPV cage-side commentary debut. Consequently, MMA fans reacted negatively to the whole facade and slandered UFC’s broadcasting partner ESPN and their parent company Disney for the whole mess.
UFC 271 features a clash between two of the middleweights on the face of the planet as Israel Adesanya goes into the octagon to defend his title for the fourth time.
Israel Adesanya shows support for Joe Rogan
Amongst all the allegations leveled at Joe Rogan, many MMA entities came into show support for the longtime UFC associate. Even UFC supremo Dana White came in to say that Rogan Couldn’t be canceled.
But probably the most impactful and shocking message that came at Rogan’s side was that of Nigerian-born Israel Adesanya, who pounced at Rogan’s question on the media day scrum of UFC 271.
“First off, let me take this one, hold up. I’m Black, I can take this one. Look… there’s a lot of c**ts in this game. There’s a lot of snakes in this game. I’ve been in this fight game since 2008. And Joe Rogan is one of the nicest, coolest, humble motherfu**ers I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Understand that,” stated Adesanya.
“You know it’s, f**k the noise man. You know what they’re trying to do. You can’t control the man and he’s got the biggest platform in the world right now,” he continued.
