I’m an Instagram influencer with 20,000 followers – here’s how I earn THOUSANDS every month
YOU don’t need millions of followers to make money from Instagram.
Influencer Mary Margaret Boudreaux has revealed how she makes thousands of dollars each month with a following of around 20,000.

Boudreaux explained to Business Insider that she started “taking social media seriously” when she had around 1,500 followers.
She told the outlet how she started to take Instagram more seriously in March 2021 and developed a strategy that paid off.
Bourdreaux has experience working at a marketing agency and doing social strategy for clients so she applied this expert knowledge to her own account.
This strategy involved posting more on both TikTok and Instagram.
Boudreaux started posting five TikTok videos a day.
She also posted 10 to 12 Instagram Stories, an Instagram grid post and three Reel videos per day.

This may seem like a lot but it’s what helped the influencer reach more people and gain followers.
Bourdreaux said that consistency is key.
She didn’t make any money from her posts between March and June in 2021 but after this things changed.
The influencer, who mostly posts fashion and lifestyle content, made $600 (£444) from social media posts in July 2021.
After reaching 10,000 followers in November, she started to earn considerably more.
In January this year, she made a $8,300 (£6,100) from social media posts.
In December, she made $5,300 ($3,900).
She says partnering with brands brings her the most money.
Bourdreaux worked with small brands and local businesses at first.
She know charges $900 (£665) per brand deal.
Most of her paid content goes on Instagram but she does also make money from the occasional TikTok post.
She also joined the Amazon Influencer Program and makes money when people buy products from her virtual store of personally selected products.
Bourdreaux now charges $50 per session to coach other small creators.
The influencer thinks its important to be transparent about her earnings and provide tips for others to follow.
She told Business Insider: “I feel like money in the influencing industry is very hush-hush, and no one likes to talk about rates.
“So my ultimate goal of sharing all this experience is, I want to be the person that I didn’t have when I was first starting off.”
