The trailer for Deep Water is here, and the timing could not be more awks.
The erotic film stars Ben Affleck, 49, and Ana de Armas, 33, who dated after meeting on set for the project.
They enjoyed a whirlwind romance, but split in January last year.
The trailer for the upcoming release suggests things are going to get pretty steamy, making the timing of its drop even more awkward – especially as it’s Valentine’s Day and Ben is now loved up with Jennifer Lopez.
The trailer doesn’t give much away, but hints at some sinister goings-on beneath the love affair.
A synopsis for the film reads: ‘A well-to-do husband, who allows his wife to have affairs in order to avoid a divorce, becomes a prime suspect in the disappearance of her lovers.’
The trailer opens with Ana’s character Melinda asking Ben’s character Vic: ‘Why are you the only man who wants to stay with me?’
‘I don’t know,’ he replies, insisting he isn’t ‘bored’ with his wife.
What follows is pretty raunchy, as the two share a heated moment before both declaring there is ‘something wrong’ with them.
The seductive thriller is from the director of Indecent Proposal and Fatal Attraction.
It’s also based on a 1957 novel by Patricia Highsmith, which tells the same story of a husband and wife trapped in a hopeless marriage which is held together by a precarious arrangement.

The trailer for Deep Water has been a long time coming, after being hit with multiple delays throughout the pandemic.
However, some viewers perhaps could’ve waited a little longer, as Twitter users were quick to comment on the awkwardness after watching the preview.
‘What did I just watch,’ wrote one.
‘Not yall releasing this on VALENTINES when they’re exes and tagging Ben???? LMAO,’ laughed another.

Although, there are plenty who are buzzing to watch the flick, as they exclaimed their excitement that ‘erotic thrillers are back!’
Deep Water will be released exclusively on streaming service Hulu, after originally being slated for a November 2020 premiere.
The film drops on March 18.
