Mikaela Shiffrin Makes an INSANE Comeback in Her Quest for Gold Medal at Beijing Winter Olympics 2022

Mikaela Shiffrin came to Beijing to reign over the slope. But things didn’t go for her as planned and she was left heartbroken after two crashes at her best events.

This made everyone question whether or not Mikaela could pull herself up again after these events. But Mikaela isn’t one to be backed into a corner that easily. She decided to focus more on her performance and go ahead to give her best.

The first training session for the Combined Downhill event was held on February 16th, Wednesday. Mikaela was the first one to go and she absolutely aced it.

With a timing of 1.33.56, Mikaela dominated the slope and topped the scoreboard. She was followed by Wendy Holddener of Switzerland.

Her beginning in the Olympics wasn’t too good. Mikaela crashed out of both the giant slalom and slalom events. Breaking down in tears, she apologized to all her fans for her performance.

But Mikaela wasn’t one to back down so easily. She knew she needed to reset and she did. Mikaela pulled herself up quickly. In the next Super G event, she ranked 9th and in the following Downhill ski, Mikaela ranked 18th. The downhill rank was quite commendable since it was her first time.

Now, Shiffrin has ranked 1st in the training session for the Combined Downhill. 2 more training sessions will be held before the finals.

If Mikaela is able to maintain her consistency, then she has a pretty good chance at grabbing the Gold Medal. And it certainly looks like she isn’t going to let go of it that easily.

Shiffrin is glad about her debut in downhill
