How far can £10 get you when playing Sun Bingo’s element-themed slots?

BINGO is all about having fun, making friends and seeing how far an affordable amount can get you. So, I set myself the challenge of playing with £10 to see how far I could get with this money.

The theme for this inaugural session of Keep up with Katrina is the elements.

I played five games, one for each of the fundamental elements (water, fire, air and earth) and one for the unofficial fifth element (spirit).

Let’s see how I got on!

Water

Pirates’ Plenty: The Sunken Treasure£2 spent, £2.96 won

I took a trip to the watery depths in the hope of treasure and wasn’t disappointed.

A ghostly looking pirate captain ushered me into the game, a golden key dangling from his hook.

On his shoulder perched a monkey. I didn’t let the adorable green-stripped top the monkey had on fool me, he had a sinister look in his eye.

Map symbols will unlock a treasure reel that stays open for all future spins at the same stake.

Ocean spins will be triggered by three Ocean Spins symbols on the board.

If I unlock the sunken treasure chests during ocean spins, I win more free spins and turn low-paying symbols into wilds.

It turns out, I was a bit harsh on the monkey, he’s actually quite good. He substitutes for all paying symbols and may appear on any spin (bar an ocean spin).

There are 20 winning payline patterns. Once I had the basics down, I was ready to play.

With a Super Jackpot of more than £500 and a Rapid Jackpot of more than £400, this was a very exciting bingo booty!

I played six games with a stake of 20p a piece, but no luck. I think the monkey was working against me somehow.

However, all was not lost. On my 80p stake spin I managed to bag £2.96.

Fire

Slingo XXXTreme£2 spent, £2.50 won

I decided to try my luck with the opposite element to water and, once again, it paid off.

I’m a big fan of the slingo games, they are a mix of slots and bingo.

XXXTreme has 11 spins per game. All I have to do is match numbers on the reel with those on the grid.

Completed straight, horizontal or diagonal lines create a slingo, the more slingos I have, the higher I’ll climb the pay table.

Jokers allow the player to pick a number in that row to mark off. Wild Jokers allow the player to pick a number from ANYWHERE on the grid to mark off.

XXXTreme is a fiery inferno, with a floor of molten lava that bubbles with boiling liquid.

I need at least three slingo rows completed before I can start to earn money from this scorching slingo game.

I placed my stake and pressed “Start Game”.

The game is quick, automatically dabbing off my numbers at lightning speed.

The matched numbers burn away and are replaced by a star. I managed to claim a joker bonus – three or more joker / super joker symbols in a single spin awards an instant cash prize (I got £1).

I also got “Free Spin” symbol, meaning an extra ball to play with is added to my game.

It’s a session in two parts for me. The first two 50p games that I played didn’t end in money.

However, on the next two, things started heating up. I won £2 on one turn (thank you joker bonus!) and 50p on my next game.

Air

Eagle Riches£2 spent, no winnings

Bingo gives and bingo takes, it’s the nature of the game that we all love.

I was flying high off the back of my water and fire games, so I thought it was time to spread my wings and soar upwards.

As nothings soars more majestically than an eagle, I thought that the only game worthy of representing air in this edition of Keep up with Katrina was Eagle Riches.

The plains of the Wild West. A bald eagle with its wings spread wide welcomed me in.

The Super Jackpot was at £450 and the Rapid Jackpot was at £370, both raising.

The Daily Jackpot is over £800. The rules say that if the eagle randomly flies overhead during a game, it’ll swap random symbols to the same type and award a bigger win.

I set my stake and pressed the spin button (yellow circle with two arrows).

The game includes American desert themed animals: mountain lions, bighorn sheep and wolves.

My lucks dried out in this desert game. Rather than rise like an eagle, I was an Icarus and flew too close to the sun.

After three 20p spins, two 40p spins and a 60p spin, my winning pot was as barren as the sandy plains background.

Earth

Secret Garden Jackpot£2 spent, 10p won

When life gets you down, it’s a good time to stop and smell the roses.

So, I headed over to Secret Garden Jackpot. It’s a pretty green backdrop with trees and yellow flowers.

There’s green vines down the dividing board lines. With ladybirds, butterflies, sunflowers, dragonflies, as well as pink and yellow mushrooms on the bingo board, I decided to make this game my happy place.

There’s a max line count of 25 and a minimum bet per line of 1p. I’m cautious this time round, I don’t want to have a repeat of my experience of Eagle Riches.

2p per line, 25 lines (that’s a total bet of 50p) – let’s go!

After three games of a 50p bet and two with a 25p bet, I’m 10p richer. All things are rosy in this blooming lovely bingo game.

Spirit

Slingo Lucky Streak£2 spent, 60p won

I thought I’d let my spirit animal, the mighty sloth (a creature with the best attitude towards leading their best life), lead me to my final game.

I was drawn to Slingo Lucky Streak, my spirit sloth did not disappoint!

Slingo Lucky Streak is an unusual, but very fun, slot. You start with two lives.

Any spin without a match loses you a life. Any spin with a match adds a life (up to the maximum of two lives).

You don’t have a set number of balls to play with, but rather you play until your lives run out.

What this means is that you live life on the edge. You never know which spin will be your last so you treasure each one.

It doesn’t seem like the luck of the Irish will be with me at first. Two spins at 50p stakes produced no luck, neither did three spins on a 20p stake.

However, things turn around. On another 20p stake, I won 20p. It all comes down to my final game.

There’s 20p left in my budget. I start the game and battle to not lose my two lives.

After a 22 spin game, I walk away with 40p.

How much could you win?

It’s been an interesting bingo session. I walked away with money in my pot after four of the five games that I played.

It was nice to mix it up by playing a mix of slingos and slots. I played for about 40 minutes and spent £10.

What I got for this £10 was a morning of fun, playing games that I hadn’t played before and exploring the vast number of slots and slingos that the Sun Bingo site has to offer.

On top of that, my winnings came to £6.16. In honour of my inner sloth, I’m going to buy:

A “My Spirit Animal In a Matchbox”, which has a wool felt sloth inside, for £4.99.A “I <3 Sloths” pin button for £1.One ticket for Sun Bingo’s Heart Room for 15p.Two tickets for Sun Bingo’s Spirit Twister Bingo, for 1p each.

Join me next week as I take on Sun Bingo’s bingo rooms to see how far my money can get me in classic bingo games.
