Deborah Meaden threatened to kick a businessman out of Dragons’ Den on Thursday
Steven Burr winced as he was told off for calling her ‘Debbie’ then ‘Deb’
While most wannabe entrepreneurs are too rigid to deliver their pitch properly thanks to nerves, Steven went the other way entirely and became over familiar with the Dragons.
He called Deborah, 63, “Debbie” which she let slide but moments later he called her “Deb”, prompting her to call him out.
After Steven Bartlett had tried his product and explained to Deborah it wasn’t for him, she said it was down to “personal preference”.
Contestant Steven replied: “Absolutely, but there’s no reason why there can’t be the crossover there. Deb, you are…”
With a look of shock on her face, she replied: “Did you just call me Deb?”
Wincing, Steven replied: “Deborah, sorry.”

Pointing her finger at him, she said: ” Just so you know, you started off with a Debbie and got away with it once.
“Now you’ve shortened it to Deb. If you call me “D”, you’re going to be out of those lift doors faster than you can say Deborah.”
It wasn’t the only name blunder Steven made, as he went on to call Sara Davies “Sarah”.
However, despite his mistakes, he ended up securing the investment he wanted from Sara and Touker Suleyman, but not before agreeing to the Dragons’ receiving a 40 per cent share of his business to split between them.
Steven Bartlett reacted as Deborah scolded the wannabe entrepreneur for his mistake
Dragons’ Den airs Thursdays at 8pm on BBC One and is available on BBC iPlayer.
