Woman shares ‘genius’ hack to make bin day MUCH easier – but not everyone can get on board
A MUM divided opinion when she shared her ultimate hack to make bin day easier – some think it’s genius, but others say it’s a total waste of time.
Mum Laura said: “Right guys, you may think this is a boring video of me emptying my bin. I saw another TikToker do this yesterday, what a great hack.”

She revealed that her outdoor bin isn’t big enough for her family’s weekly waste.
She said: “My bin outside is so small, it’s emptied once every two weeks. My five-year-old wouldn’t even fit in there.”
So, to combat the problem, she decided to vacuum out all the excess air in the bag.
“Treating your bin bag as a vacuum section bag, like you do with your clothes. Just genius”, she said.
The clip racked up 3.4 million views, and opinion was totally split among viewers.
One commenter implied that Laura hasn’t got enough space in her big because she doesn’t recycle enough.

They wrote: “Try to recycle more. My household (four people) barely makes one bag a week.”
Others thought using the vacuum cleaner to get rid of air in the bin bag was unhygienic.
“If you did this with your bin bag all the vile smells from your waste would end up around your house. Not a wise video”, wrote one critical viewer.
Another added: “The smell in the vacuum though.”
Others simply thought it wasn’t worth their while.
“Now I’ve got another tip how to waste my time – thanks”, wrote one critical commenter.
Lots of commenters, however, loved the idea.
“Ok I need to do this”, one said, and a second agreed: “Omg you’re genius, after council refused to give our family of six a big bin, I’m doing this! Thank you!”
