General Hospital actress Lindsey Pearlman found dead aged 43 after going missing

Lindsey Pearlman, an actress who appeared on TV series including General Hospital, Chicago Justice, The Ms Pat Show and Vicious, has been found dead aged 43.

Earlier this month, the Los Angeles Police Department released a statement announcing that Pearlman had gone missing, saying that she had last been seen on February 13 at 4pm, although her husband Vance Smith posted on Instagram that she had last been seen a couple of days later.

The LAPD alert said that she ‘failed to return home and has not been seen or heard from since’.

In an update shared on Friday, the police department said that at around 8.30am that day, officers in the Hollywood Area responded to a radio call at Franklin Avenue and North Sierra Bonita Avenue over a death investigation.

‘The LA County Coroner’s Office has since confirmed the individual to be Lindsey Erin Pearlman. The cause of death will be determined by the coroner,’ the statement read.

Pearlman’s husband, Smith, posted a heartbreaking statement on Instagram, writing: ‘The police found Lindsey. She’s gone. I’m broken. I will share more later, but I wanted to thank everyone for their love and efforts and ask you to respect the privacy of her family at this time.’

The late actress’ cousin, Savannah Pearlman, shared an update on Twitter, having previously written that her uncle was offering a reward in the search for her.

‘UPDATE: I’m deeply sad to report that they have found Lindsey, and it was too late. I have no other information about the location or circumstance,’ she tweeted on Friday.

‘Lindsey was a fierce animal advocate and a talented actress. Please consider a donation to @SanteDOr in her honor.’

In a statement sent to E! News, Pearlman’s agent wrote: ‘We are deeply saddened by Lindsey Pearlman’s passing today.

‘The family has asked for privacy during this difficult time while they process and grieve.’

Some of her other acting credits included appearing on Empire, Selena: The Series, The Purge and American Housewife.

On Pearlman’s website, she was described as ‘an accomplished commercial actor, who has shot for dozens of recognizable brands’.

It also said that she ‘loves 90’s R&B’ and was ‘an activist for animals and humans’.
