I got six hours of sleep EVERY night after giving birth to my son – here’s how you can do it too

MUMS KNOW having a newborn is sleep-depriving, from late night feeds to changing nappies.

But one woman has revealed how she avoided getting overtired thanks to the schedule she and her partner stuck to.

Renee Reina shared her tips on her TikTok channel and it went viral with over 600k views.

The mum shared the hack saying ‘everyone’s needs are important’ and we couldn’t agree more.

She said that the first few weeks after her son was born the couple changed their routine so they both could get enough sleep.

Renee, who also runs a podcast for mums called The mom room, added that by doing this she was able to get at least six hours of uninterrupted slumber.

She explained the new routine and said she would go to bed at 6pm while her husband stayed with their son until midnight.

At midnight her partner would feed and change their baby and put him in the cot.


Her husband would then go to bed while Renee would take over from there.

She added: “I never was sleep deprived because I always got that solid six hours of sleep.

“This may not work for every couple but it’s an example of trying o meet everyone’s needs.

“My son’s needs were met, my husband’s needs were met and my needs were met.”

Viewers of the video loved the idea and many asked the mum if she still experienced postpartum rage.

Renee said she did, but because her needs were met it made it easier to manage.

Many viewers thought the idea was smart and lots of mums agreed it helped them too, one wrote: “I absolutely love this. thank you for saying this!”

“My hubby and I did this and it really helped to not feel like a zombie.” Said one mum.

Another mum added: “That’s how we did it too it was great. Never felt too tired.”
