Apple fans all have the same complaint after release date for secret foldable iPhone ‘revealed’

APPLE is reportedly dropping a foldable iPhone in 2025, according to supply chain analysts – and people are not happy about it.

Even though Apple has not confirmed a foldable iPhone, experts believe it has been in the works for quite some time, according to Techspot.

The long-rumored foldable iPhone

Rumors of a collapsible iPhone initially started up in 2021, with analysts such as Ming-Chi Kuo predicting it would launch sometime in 2023 or 2024, per MacRumors.

Now it appears that 2025 is more the realistic timeline for Apple, according to a new report by Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) analyst Ross Young.

Some possible reasons for the delay could be Apple’s concerns over foldable display technology, as well as an uncertain market for collapsible smartphones.

Still, despite Apple’s potential tentativeness, many industry watchers expect the foldable smartphone market to grow to 27.6 million units by 2025 – a nearly fourfold growth from last year’s 7.1 million units.

News of the delay of the long-rumored iPhone struck a nerve with many Apple fans, who took to social media to express their dismay

“Damn it. That iPhone fold better be flawless,” one user wrote on Twitter.

“I want a foldable iPhone. I’ve been thinking of getting the fold 3 but my life revolves around Apple’s ecosystem. Anyways hope it’s the best when it comes out,” a second user added.

“Nooooooo,” a third user simply remarked.

While Apple may have hit ‘pause’ on a collapsible iPhone (maybe even indefinitely), rumors are rampant that the company is currently working on a foldable all-screen MacBook.

The rumored notebook would likely launch sometime in 2026 and feature a display size of around 20 inches and a resolution of about 4K.

Experts predict the device would work with a full-size on-screen keyboard when folded and act as a monitor to be used with an external keyboard when unfolded.

Apple has announced updates to AirTags following claims that the coin-sized tracking devices are being used to stalk people.

And TikTok has announced new rules, banning users who deadname or misgender others.
