THE BBC’s psychological thriller had the nation gripped, with it’s thrilling storyline.

The drama follows a social media-obsessed woman who goes undercover to solve a suspicious death.

Will there be another series of Chloe?

Despite it’s popularity, a second season of Chloe hasn’t yet been confirmed by the BBC.

The show’s creator Alice Seabright has said that while there is “potential’ to continue the story, she isn’t sure at this point “if it’s the right thing”.

Speaking to the Radio Times she said: ‘It definitely works as a self-contained story and it’s not that you couldn’t open up that story again, there’s the potential for it, but at the moment I don’t know what the version of that is that I would want to do.”

Alice, who previously worked as a director and writer on Sex Education, explained that while she’s not “closing that opportunity off”, she also “needs a breather and a bit of distance” from the gripping drama, adding: “If it comes it comes, and if it doesn’t… let sleeping dogs lie kind of thing.”

What happened in series 1?

Chloe tells the story of a young woman named Becky who is unhappy with her life.

She compares herself to the picture-perfect lives on Instagram, compulsively returning to one account: Chloe’s.

Becky obsessively watches her seemingly flawless life through social media.

But when Chloe dies suddenly, Becky’s need to find out how and why leads her to assume a new identity to infiltrate Chloe’s group of close-knit friends.

In the final episode, it was revealed that Chloe’s husband Elliott had been controlling her.

Chloe had been taking birth control in order to prevent having a child with him.

She had almost made an escape but Elliott caught up with her and played a crucial role in her death.

Chloe’s mother claimed she saw Chloe jump off a cliff, but this may not have been the truth.
