Inventor creates £12,000 camping trike which can cross water and land

INVENTOR Aigars Lauzis sets sails in his amphibious camping trike which can cross water and land.

The £12,000 convertible contraption, known as the Z-Triton 2.0, sleeps two people and travels at up to 15mph.

It has two electric motors, powered by a lithium-ion battery pack and integrated solar panels on the roof, and has “a positive CO2 footprint”.

A number of parts are large-format 3D printed with bioplastics.

Latvian designer Aigars came up with it after cycling the world.

He said: “The body is manufactured in organic fibreglass with polyester from recycled PET bottles.”

It will be on sale later this year.

A Zeltini spokesman added the vehicle ‘aims to be the most sustainable RV on the market.’
