Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino reunite to mark 25th anniversary of cult comedy Romy And Michele’s High School Reunion at SAG Awards

Sometimes it’s a case of a reunion being the only correct response to a situation.
Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino meeting at the SAG Awards was definitely one of those occasions.
The Friends star, 58, and Mira, 54, marked the 25th anniversary of their cult comedy Romy And Michelle’s High School Reunion in true style, by staging a reunion of their own.
The pair donned co-ordinated blue and pink suits that paid homage to their outfits from the beloved 1997 film as they teamed up to present an award at the star-studded ceremony.
In the film Lisa wears a pale pink dress to the school reunion that gives the film the title, while Mira wears electric blue.
The duo recreated the voices of their dim-witted characters as they took to the stage, as Mira told Lisa: ‘You look cute,’ to which the Friends star replied: ‘I know, thanks.’

‘So do you, of course. Do you think this is the cutest anyone’s ever looked an awards show?’
Mira continued: ‘I just realised this; we’re wearing great ensembles while at the same time presenting to great ensembles.’
The pair also whipped out a stack of Post-it notes, a reference to the fact their characters pretended to have invented the sticky note pads in an attempt to impress former classmates.
The film follows the two best friends as they realise they were not popular in school and decide to concoct elaborate lies to impress the peers who were unkind to them.
It also starred Janeane Garofalo and Alan Cumming, with a cameo from Justin Theroux.
In 2020, Mira spoke about a potential cast reunion for the hit movie, and how ‘grateful’ she would be if Disney arranged one.

She said: ‘It’s not in my hands. It’s up to Disney. I would be so grateful if they would decide to do it.’
‘I know that Lisa, and that Robin Schiff is interested in it. Maybe Alan is interested in it. I don’t know. I heard that Janeane is interested in it.’
Mira added: ‘I love Lisa and I would do anything just to work with her again in any capacity. That would be a joy.’

The stars were out in force for the 28th SAG Awards yesterday, which were held in the Santa Monica Barker Hanger in Los Angeles California.
Helen Mirren, Will Smith and Squid Game all won big at the event, with Helen taking home the lifetime achievement award.
