You’re storing your jeans all wrong…the right way saves you so much space

DENIM is a classic that will never go out of fashion – and those with several pairs of jeans, will know that they take up quite a bit of space.

But, according to a organising expert, there are different techniques of folding to ensure maximum efficiency without taking up unnecessary space.

Natasha Swingler, from Melbourne, Australia, revealed the three ways of storing denim trousers, explaining that each space – whether it’s a shelf, a deep drawer or a smaller space – requires a different method.

The video, which was afterwards reposted by Dress Queen (@dresshow) on Instagram, demonstrated the various techniques.

According to the whizz, if you store your jeans on a shelf, start by folding them into half from leg to the waist – this is done on both sides.

Then fold it in another half and close it as if you were to close a book or a magazine.

If it’s a deep drawer, the method is slightly different – lay the jeans out, fold one side across the other whilst tucking in whatever extra material there is around the butt area.

Then simply fold it again and use the open waist space to squeeze in the bottom half.

For smaller spaces, the Aussie guru instructed, all you need to do is fold each leg – she did this two times – and again, tuck it inside the waist and fold in two.

”The last two folds can be adjusted to suit any space simply adjust the folds accordingly,” read the caption alongside the viral video, which has been liked by almost 490,000 people on Instagram.

”Always have the labels visible so the jeans are easy to identify,” was another tip.

Whilst some took it to comments to tag their friends and close ones, others shared recommendations, with one joking: ”I also have a specific technique I like to call “the frumble and shove”. Makes it fit anywhere.”

A critical user wasn’t that impressed and wrote: ”She just took different sizes.”

Someone else joined and shared their frustration: ”Why are women still so worried about folding, ironing and the like? It’s 2022!”

”i need you in my life,” read a supportive comment.

A viewer told a friend: ”you need to know this for your massive load of jeans.”

In other news, a woman shared a lazy girl hack for getting rid of creases in clothes – it takes minutes and couldn’t be simpler.

Meanwhile, a fashion lover revealed a simple trick will make sure your dresses always fit flawlessly.
