Twenty most common passwords leaked on the dark web revealed — make sure NONE of them are yours
USING a go-to password can allow a hacker to access all of your private information in just a few guesses — and your password might be more common than you think.
A new report from a tech security firm listed the 20 most common passwords found in leaks from the dark web due to data breaches.

Whether you use a sequence of numbers and letters or your mother’s maiden name, it’s important that your passwords are not easily accessible to cybercriminals.
The mobile security firm Lookout published a list of the most common passwords found on the dark web from leaked emails and account information.
The list reveals the popularity of passwords that are simple number sequences like 123456, 123456789, 12345, 12345678, 111111, 1234567, 123123, 1234567890, 654321, 123321, and 666666.
Other common breached passwords include more creative choices like DEFAULT, Abc123, Iloveyou, Qwerty123, and even just the number 0.
If you use one password across multiple accounts, then it’s even more likely that hackers can use one breached password to unlock multiple platforms where they can acquire your personal data.
Many people now use password managers in an attempt to keep strong and complex passwords for each separate account.

If you see your password on that list, you’ll want to change it to something more complex.
Experts have warned against using easily guessable passwords for social media accounts like pet names.
While password managers are advised, iPhone users can also use the iCloud Keychain.
In the meantime, Facebook and Gmail users were warned to not use recycled and similar passwords.
