Fans React to Latest Update on Ben Simmons Debuting Against Ex-Team 76ers

After almost half a season of his fight with the Philadelphia 76ers, Ben Simmons got his way out. He was sent to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for James Harden. Fans were left eager to finally see Simmons back in action. However, the former All-Star guard is yet to suit up for the Nets. With a matchup against his former team around the corner, fans were left upset on Nash’s recent update on Simmons.

After a failure in the playoffs last season, Simmons started to hate the city of Philadelphia. Because of all the scrutiny he faced for their playoff loss, Simmons vowed to not play for the Sixers again. After paying heavy fines, the right opportunity came by and he was shipped to the Nets. Most NBA fans looked forward to Simmons getting back at his team.

However, it seems Simmons will only be watching from the sidelines.

Nash gives a terrible update on Ben Simmons

With the trade for Harden, the Nets have had both Seth Curry and Andre Drummond suit up. However, Simmons is still dealing with back soreness. He is yet to take part in practices as well. Now, it seems the wait for his Nets debut will be extended to after their game against his former team, The Sixers.

Brooklyn Nets coach Steve Nash said Simmons is unlikely to take part in practice this week. The Nets want to wait for him to completely recover from his back soreness and come back fully fit to play. However, fans did not like this news and they went right after the former number one pick.

Despite a strong start to the season, the Nets are now in a very tricky spot. Currently, they are in 8th seed in the Eastern Conference and bound for the play-in tournament. However, looking at their recent performances with a record of 3-7, they haven’t been able to hold up well without Kevin Durant. Hence, they would have really benefitted from having Simmons at such a crucial time.

With the Sixers rolling with their duo, the Nets will need to fire. While the news with Simmons is bad, they have some encouraging news as well.
