Glastonbury Festival 2022 is creeping ever closer, with fans eagerly awaiting their chance to get to Worthy Farm for the first time since the pandemic began.

The last time Glastonbury took place was in 2019, with both 2020 and 2021’s events being cancelled due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

However, this year’s event is set to go ahead in June, celebrating the return of the iconic music festival after two years away.

Here’s everything you need to know about Glastonbury 2022.

Glastonbury festival 2022 line-up

Billie Eilish was the first headliner announced for the Pyramid Stage at 2022’s Glastonbury Festival, which makes her the youngest solo artist to have achieved this feat so far.

The 19-year-old previously played the Other Stage in 2019 and announced the news on Instagram by wearing a Glastonbury hoody.

Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis later confirmed the news and tweeted: ‘We couldn’t be happier to announce that the wondrous @billieeilish is headlining the Pyramid on the Friday at next year’s Glastonbury Festival, becoming the youngest solo headliner in our history.

‘This feels like the perfect way for us to return and I cannot wait!’

Diana Ross has also been confirmed for a legends slot, while British rapper Little Simz will play a headline set on the West Holts stage.

The rest of the line-up is currently under wraps, but it has been claimed that Taylor Swift ‘politely declined’ performing this year after being on 2020’s planned line-up as she is re-recording her music.

Rumoured acts include Harry Styles who has a gap in the UK leg of his tour which matches up with the dates for Glasto, as does Sir Elton John’s farewell tour.

Other names in the frame for a slot on the line-up include Sir Paul McCartney and Noel Gallagher, who said he’s up for doing it if he gets asked.

When is Glastonbury 2022?

The festival will be back at Worthy Farm this June, with campers arriving on June 22 and leaving on June 27, while most of the music will take place on June  24, 25 and 26.

Can you still buy tickets to Glastonbury?

Unfortunately not, as tickets for Glastonbury 2022 have sold out.

Fans who had tickets for 2020’s cancelled event have been able to roll over their passes twice due to the festival having to be postponed.

Organisers Michael and Emily Eavis previously said: ‘As with last year, we would like to offer all those who secured a ticket in October 2019 the opportunity to roll their £50 deposit over to next year, and guarantee the chance to buy a ticket for Glastonbury 2022.

‘We are very appreciative of the faith and trust placed in us by those of you with deposits, and we are very confident we can deliver something really special for us all in 2022.’

There may be a chance of tickets coming up again nearer the time if some of those who had tickets to 2020’s festival do not choose to secure them for 2022, but this is not guaranteed.
