Who is Oscar Isaac’s wife Elvira Lind?

ACTOR Oscar Isaac is known for his role in Scenes from a Marriage and has been happily married since 2017.

The 42-year-old actor is hosting Saturday Night Live on March 5, 2022, alongside musical guest Charli XCX.

Who is Elvira Lind?

Oscar Isaac and Elvira Lind were married in 2017 and have both had long prosperous careers.

A Swedish-born producer, Lind graduated from Cape Town’s City Varsity School of Media and Creative Arts in Documentary Films and she won the Reel Talent Award at the Copenhagen Documentary Festival for her documentary Songs for Alexis in 2014.

While Isaac’s career jumped to the box office, Lind was producing and screenwriting films, even starring her future husband in her 2013 project Staircase Sessions.

The project incorporated 13 videos of musicians singing in staircases, and Isaac starred in three of them. In one of the videos, he sings his own composition of Sweet Lady Death.

In 2017, Lind directed Bobbi Jene, a feature that won numerous awards at the Tribeca Film Festival, and three years later, she premiered her first fiction short film, The Letter Room, at the HollyShorts Film Festival.

When did Oscar Isaac and Elvira Lind meet?

Isaac and Lind are reported to have met in 2012 while at a party premiering his movie, Inside Llewyn Davis.

In an interview with NPR, Isaac alluded to Lind being the woman he met that night, saying he was dressed in full character for the movie when she approached him.

“I was sitting in the corner just eating. I was the only person eating at the party, and this girl who ended up, she’s a documentary filmmaker, so obviously she spotted the weirdo and went directly to that one.”

However, it wasn’t until 2016 that the pair officially made their relationship public.

Isaac had just won the Best Actor Award at the 2016 Golden Globes, and leaned over to Lind and gave her a kiss, shocking fans, and attendees, who didn’t even know he was in a relationship.

When did they get married?

The pair got married only a year after they shared the surprising kiss at the Golden Globe Awards – the reason for the quick marriage, was that it was “practical.”

Isaac opened up about their quick marriage in a 2018 interview with Bustle and said because Lind is Danish, meaning she isn’t a US citizen and was pregnant with their child, it made their relationship complicated.

He said, “… There was an element of figuring out ‘Well, where are we going to be?’ And us wanting to be a family unit a bit more.”

But right before their wedding, Isaac’s mother fell ill and Lind stepped up to help take care of her. Isaac said this solidified his love for her.

“… I saw (Lind) carrying my child, bathing my sick mom — seeing her do that, I just thought: ‘I want to be with this person forever and ever.’ And I just wanted to take that extra step as well.

And so my mom passed in February and we got married in March and our son was born in April.”

Isaac and Lind now have two children together, Eugene, 4, who was named after Isaac’s mom, Eugenia and they had their second son Mads, 2 in October 2019.
