Horror moment hit-and-run driver mows down woman, 61, and ‘makes shocking comment before driving away’

SANDRA Martin was mowed down by a driver in a hit-and-run last month while she was walking in downtown Los Angeles. Now, police are looking for the man who did it.

Shocking video shows the 61-year-old woman getting knocked to the ground after being struck by a four-door passenger vehicle.

Martin said the driver got out of the car after she had been hit to pull her out from under the vehicle. After this, he went back inside the car.

“Prior to getting back into his vehicle, the driver was asked by Martin if he was leaving, and his response was, ‘I sure am,’” read a statement from the Los Angeles Police Department.

“The driver fled the scene without rendering aid and identifying himself.”

According to police, the driver is believed to be 25 to 30-years-old, with a thin build and approximately 170 to 190 pounds.

There is no description of the suspect’s car other than the fact that it’s a four-door vehicle.

Martin received severe injuries, which required surgery, according to the police.

As a result of the crash, Martin lost her pet Chihuahua Terrier named Little Man. She is asking the public to keep an eye out for the pooch.

Martin had been carrying the dog at the time of the crash and Little Man had ran off when Martin was struck.

“We would like to remind everybody when involved in a traffic crash to stop and check on the other parties to make sure they are alright, call 9-1-1 if they need medical attention and to exchange information.” wrote the LAPD.

“Don’t convert a traffic crash into a crime.”

Anyone with information on the hit-and-run vehicle and driver or the whereabouts of Little Man the dog is told to contact the LAPD.
