Dancing on Ice 2022 final ‘delayed’ as ITV ‘makes way’ for FA Cup quarter-final

There isn’t long to go until the final of Dancing On Ice 2022 reveals which skating couple has been crowned the winners of the ITV series.
However, it appears viewers may have to wait a week longer than expected to watch the grand finale take place, due to a clash with an upcoming football match.
With the semi-final due to take place this week on Sunday March 13, it wouldn’t have been too far a stretch to assume that the final would be held a week later on Sunday March 20.
Nonetheless, an FA quarter-final match between Nottingham Forest and Liverpool on that date, with a kick-off time of 6pm, has seemingly resulted in ITV deciding to give Dancing On Ice a week off.
According to The Sun, ITV has confirmed that the Dancing On Ice final will instead air on Sunday March 27, a week later than predicted.
It’s also said that there will a double bill on the Sunday as audiences are forced to wait a week to discover who has won the show.

The celebrities currently still in the running for the title include former Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Brendan Cole, The Vamps musician Connor Ball, Pussycat Dolls singer Kimberly Wyatt, Olympic BMX racer Kye Whyte and professional dancer Regan Gascoigne.
Paralympian Stef Reid became the latest star to exit on Sunday evening after losing out in the skate-off to Kye.
Speaking to co-hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield after her elimination, she said: ‘I have absolutely loved every moment. It is just not something that I ever thought I would be able to do.’
Turning to her partner Andy Buchanan, she added: ‘Just learning to skate and getting to learn about performance and dance. I can’t thank you enough.’
This year’s series hasn’t been void of injuries, with Connor suffering a gruesome gash on his leg that he compared to a ‘shark bite’.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk after the incident during a performance, he said: ‘It was a bit of a shock, to be honest, it was a lot worse than my last injury with the chin, which at the time I didn’t realise.’
He continued: ‘When I tore off my trousers I was like “ahh there’s a big hole in my leg!” But it’s all stitched up now and holding together and looking like a shark bite or something like that.’

Dancing On Ice returns on Sunday at 7.30pm on ITV.
