2022 F1 Pre-Season Testing: When & Where to Watch the Live Action of Testing in Bahrain?

After private three-day testing behind closed doors at Circuit de Catalunya last month, the viewers are finally set to experience live action of Formula One cars from today at the Bahrain International Circuit. The fans are yet to witness an F1 session live on TV this year as all we instead received were a few snapshots and brief clips from Barcelona.

Well, that isn’t going to be the case anymore! The cars are expected to look much different from how they initially did in Barcelona with most of the teams gaining enough track time to diagnose the flaws in their respective car designs.

For instance, there seems to be a bizarre change in Mercedes’ halo design which has certainly raised a few eyebrows. Furthermore, it’s safe to say that there are more such surprises in store in Bahrain. Hence, we’d suggest the fans not miss out on the three-day event.

When and where to watch the F1 testing?

For the first time this year, pre-season testing will take place under bright daylight and also hours into the sunset under track lights. The lights go green at 10:00 AM local time and the morning session will last for 4 hours and 5 minutes before the teams head for a 55-minute lunch break.

The afternoon session will then begin at 3:00 PM and will extend up to 7:10 PM. Similar to the first pre-season testing, F1 will have the right to use up part of the lunch break to compensate for the lost track time. These timings will be followed throughout the three-day testing starting from Thursday until Saturday.

Where to watch? Well, quite obviously, the best option would be F1 TV. However, apart from that, Sky Sports too will live stream the sessions through their Formula One channel.
