The ‘worm moon’ is coming – what it means and how it could impact your horoscope predictions

THE WORM moon of 2022 is quickly approaching.

It promises to bring a great amount of self reflection and energy shifts for each star sign, according to an expert.

Each full moon has a name based on when it occurs during the year.

For instance, February’s full moon is referred to as the snow moon while January’s full moon is called the wolf moon.

March’s full moon is known as the worm moon and it’s occurring on the 18th.

The story behind the worm moon, according to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, is that it marks the time of year during which temperatures start to rise and worms can be seen coming out of the dirt.

This invites birds and other worm-eating animals to start to come out from their hibernation.

Alternatively, 18th-century explorer Captain Jonathan Carver said the moon actually refers to beetle larvae emerging from trees and shrubbery.

Less commonly, the moon is called the sugar moon due to maple trees beginning to produce sap, the wind strong moon due to the windy days the time of the year tends to experience, or the sore eyes moon, from the strong rays of the sun.

In astrology, the moon is connected with our emotions, and the worm moon represents rebirth, inspiration, and standing in your unique power.

While the worm moon has the overall energy of regeneration to it, it means different things for each star sign’s horoscope.

In an interview with PopSugar, Jordane of Girl and Her Moon revealed how it will play out for each sign.

ARIES

MARCH 21 – APRIL 19

For Aries, Jordane said it’s all about connecting with their innermost desires and deciding what they’re willing to change to help fulfill them.

TAURUS

APRIL 20 – MAY 20

The new moon marks a month of creativity for Tauruses.

Jordane advised them to focus on what brings them the most joy.

GEMINI

MAY 21 – JUNE 20

Jordane said the upcoming month could be quite eye-opening for Geminis career-wise.

She suggested that they spend ample time with their loved ones following the worm moon.

CANCER

JUNE 21 – JULY 22

The worm moon is all about learning and wisdom for Cancers.

“With the full moon in your mental and communication realms and the sun, Mercury, Jupiter, and Pisces expanding your wisdom and higher learning faculties, there is much to learn under this lunation,” she told PopSugar.

LEO

JULY 23 – AUGUST 22

Leos should be focusing on their life goals in March.

Jordane suggested reflecting on where they are currently in their life and what they want to achieve long-term in all aspects of their lives.

VIRGO

AUGUST 23 – SEPTEMBER 22

As the worm moon is all about renewal, Jordane said Virgos should put extra emphasis on moving on from anything that might be holding them down and starting fresh.

LIBRA

SEPTEMBER 23 – OCTOBER 22

“You are going deep into the energetic and mystical side of life where there is opportunity to learn a lot about depths of who you are that you have not yet discovered,” Jordane said of Libras following the full moon.

“Your intuition will be heightened, and many messages and guidance will be communicated through your body.”

SCORPIO

OCTOBER 23 – NOVEMBER 21

The month will bring about both creativity and healing in Scorpios, according to Jordane’s readings.

SAGITTARIUS

NOVEMBER 22 – DECEMBER 21

Career clarity will come following the worm moon for Sagittariuses.

“This full moon is shining brightly on your leadership, your air of authority, and your potential for impact, especially through your career,” Jordane noted.

CAPRICORN

DECEMBER 22 – JANUARY 19

Capricorns should encourage themselves to step outside of their comfort zone this month.

It will be more emotional than usual, but can be a period of learning and insight.

AQUARIUS

JANUARY 20 – FEBRUARY 18

The new moon will be a “deeply emotional, healing, and transformative full moon” for the Aquarius sign, per Jordane.

PISCES

FEBRUARY 19 – MARCH 20

This is the perfect time for Pisces to reflect on all their personal relationships and remember the importance of staying connected.
