And one of the most recent hacks that has left people open-mouthed involves using something that you probably already have in your kitchen cupboards.

In the video, we see the TikTok user put their jewellery into a zip-lock bag, full of peanut butter.

The jewellery account said: “I put my jewellery in peanut butter for 24 hours, to see if it would go green or tarnish.”

And the result has left us shocked – not only did the peanut butter work to clean the jewellery, but it actually made it even shinier.

The user added: “OMG…


“Did it get more shiny?!” 

The DIY cleaning hack has clearly impressed many as the video has racked up a whopping 1.3million views.

Many TikTok users rushed to the comments to share their DIY hacks for getting their jewellery shiny. 

One person said: “Because of the oil in the peanut butter.”
