How Man Utd could line-up next season with Cristiano Ronaldo staying in new-look attack that includes Ryan Gravenberch

CRISTIANO RONALDO has reportedly decided that he fancies staying at Manchester United next season.

Speculation has been growing that the Portuguese star has grown disillusioned at Old Trafford, and would like to find a way out in the summer.

But Spanish paper AS reckon that he has decided to stay and honour the second year of his contract.

They add that CR7 has faith that United will make the right appointment to bring instant success next season.

Ajax boss Erik ten Hag is currently the favourite to succeed Ralf Rangnick in the dugout, while Mauricio Pochettino has also been linked.

To achieve big things next season, however, United will need a number of quality new additions.

The Red Devils will feel they need to strengthen their defence, midfield and attack if they are to even get close to challenging Manchester City and Liverpool – irrespective of who is in charge.

David de Gea will continue between the sticks, although there could be a big addition to the defence in front of him.

With crisis club Chelsea currently unable to renew his contract, Antonio Rudiger could move to Old Trafford on a free transfer.

The German could be joined in central defence by Raphael Varane – while a new manager would hope to get a tune out of full-backs Luke Shaw and Diogo Dalot.

United could field a new-look midfield, with Ajax wonderkid Ryan Gravenberch on their radar.

They could look to pair the Dutch whizz with West Ham star Declan Rice – profiting on the uncertainty at Chelsea to steal in and sign one of their primary targets.

Paul Pogba will likely leave on a free transfer, but Bruno Fernandes will remain to play in the No10 position.

With Marcus Rashford potentially following following Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard out the door, Jadon Sancho will be the main option on the left flank, while United could raid the Eredivisie to sign Brazilian ace Antony to play on the right.

Edinson Cavani is likely to move to LaLiga this summer, but Ronaldo may remain to lead the attack.
