Viewers seeing an Inbetweener with a grey beard made them feel old

Neil, now 36, has left the fresh-faced days of Neil behind and is now sporting a stubbly, slightly greying, beard.

One fan tweeted: “An Inbetweener with a grey beard. That’ll make everyone feel old.”

Another said: “Did NOT recognise Neil Inbetweeners with grey hair and beard.”

And a third added: “Neil from the Inbetweeners has got a grey beard [mind blown emoji].”

But some viewers were appreciative of Neil’s grown up look, with another tweeting: “Blake Harrison is looking very good with his curly grey Wayne Coyne style locks…”

Blake played the nice but dim Neil on the show from 2008-2010 and also in the two movies.

Since then he has appeared in various other TV shows, including Way to Go, Him & Her, Big Bad World, The Bleak Old Shop of Stuff, Edge Of Heaven and The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret.

He also voiced Scoop in the reboot of Bob The Builder.

His film credits include Keeping Rosy, and the 2016 Dad’s Army reboot, in which he played Private Pike, Ian Lavender’s old character.

In 2017 he wowed viewers with his versatility again in telly crime drama Prime Suspect 1973, playing DS Spencer Gibbs.

Blake reunited with his Inbetweeners co-stars Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, and James Buckley, for their controversial reunion show in 2019.

James later complained the New Year’s Day programme made him look like “f***ing idiot” after fans thought it would be a new episode.
