Latest Stephen Curry Injury Update Might Spring Positivity in Warriors Fans’ Minds: “The Guy Is a Freak of Nature”

Stephen Curry is currently on the sidelines because of an injury. It was one of the Warriors’ most anticipated games of the season when the injury occurred.

The big three of Curry, Thompson, and Green made their return after 1,005 days was thrilling. Following 48 hours of them playing together, Curry suffered an injury in the first half of the Golden State Warriors vs. Boston Celtics game.

While the players were battling for the loose ball, Marcus Smart dove and got caught in Stephen’s legs. This resulted in him going straight to the locker room. The second quarter ended with Curry exiting the court with 4:09 left.

A few hours later, Curry went for an MRI, which revealed that he had sprained the left foot ligament. In their subsequent match against the Warriors versus San Antonio Spurs, they lost again. Sunday night’s final score was 110-108 at the Chase Center.

Curry gave the reporter a positive assessment of the injury after the match, saying he would return after two weeks of re-evaluation. Once he returns, there will be only five regular-season games left, so the Warriors will be fine as far as their records are concerned until then.

In an interview, Curry’s trainer explained some details regarding his situation.

Brandon Payne, Stephen Curry’s trainer, addressed the situation

During the 95.7 The Game’s “The Morning Roast Monday morning, Brandon Payne, who has trained Curry since 2011, shared the following information regarding his injury:

“We talked through all the different scenarios,” Payne stated. “What ultimately came out of it was, it’s not near as bad as it could have been.”

Continuing on, he mentioned, “The conditioning part, quite frankly, that’s the least of our concerns,” Payne explained. “That’s never really a problem. From a cardiovascular standpoint, the guy is a freak of nature. It’s crazy how quickly he gets re-conditioned. For us, it’s just making sure that there’s strength and full functionality within the injured area, within that foot.”

Stephen’s absence hasn’t posed any serious problems for the Warriors this season with their record. However, the postseason is just around the corner. The team would want a healthy Steph to lead the team and try to win the title.
