‘I Just Moved On’: Usain Bolt Admits He Still Misses the Track Years After Retirement

Usain Bolt, the fastest man in history, continues to make the news despite his retirement five years ago in 2017. Lately, NFL star Tyreek Hill and Bolt have been teasing a potential sprint contest.

However, before that happens, if ever, Bolt will be participating in UNICEF’s biggest celebrity football match. Captaining the Soccer Aid World XI, Usain Bolt will be competing against popstar Liam Payne’s England XI for charity.

In a recent interview, Bolt shared his outlook on retirement, and how his time off the track has been going.

Usain Bolt has been enjoying his retirement

In an interview with Antoine Allen for ITV News, Usain Bolt talked about retirement and getting away from the track. Furthermore, he also talked about how, over the years, he felt star-struck meeting his heroes.

“When you’ve left the world of athletics and the roar of the track, is it there like it used to be?” Allen asked Bolt about other sports stars wanting to click pictures with him when he was actively a part of the sports world.

“For me, it’s easy. I just moved on to another chapter in my life,” Bolt replied. “I think I still demand the same energy, (I’m the) same person where I go, I still meet people and we still hang out take pictures,” he expanded.

Then, Bolt expressed how he was happy in retirement. However, there are still times when he reminisces over the past. “I still miss it sometimes, just watching the competition.”

There’s more for Bolt to conquer

Living in Jamaica after retirement, Bolt has recently forayed into the music industry. Last year, he released his first album titled ‘Country Yutes’.

He appreciated the love his music received from the people of Jamaica, as well. “Music has been a part of me,” Bolt said. “If you follow my career, you know I’m always dancing, playing music.”
