I crumbled when I had my miscarriages, it is not something I will ever forget or get over, says Myleene Klass

MYLEENE Klass revealed that she “crumbled” after suffering four miscarriages and said it’s something she will “never forget or get over”.

The 43-year-old presenter, who has campaigned to get the Government to change the care system so that more families can get the help they need following a miscarriage, said it’s important to give other women a voice.

The former Hear’Say singer, who is mum to Ava, 14, Hero, 10, and Apollo, two, said she has had to learn to deal with the grief.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Myleene said: “I crumbled – It’s not even sensationalising it, there is not a woman who will tell you that it is something that you will ever forget or that you will ever get over.

“I think that you learn to deal with the grief around it but you never stop thinking about it ever.

“Even just talking about it now, it’s not easy for anyone to talk about, with Mother’s Day coming; there are a lot of people that you really feel for because it’s not as you plan it.

“When you’re growing up you have an idea of 2.4 and as you get older that’s certainly not the case and it’s important to have these conversations.”

Myleene – who suffered four miscarriages of ‘four little stars in the sky’ before welcoming ‘rainbow baby’ Apollo with fiance Simon Motson – has urged people to not brush the topic under the carpet.

“Between me and my manager we had eight miscarriages – so we were both going through something that was very similar and it was the worst baton that you could keep on passing to each other and so we just thought actually we are in a position to talk about it,” Myleene said.

“Why does everyone brush it under the carpet?  It happened to two of my girlfriends in lockdown, two I couldn’t hug.”

Myleene made the brave decision to go public about her miscarriages in a powerful instagram post to mark National Baby Loss Awareness Week in October 2020.

She revealed that after losing her baby on holiday, she went on to lose her second in a missed miscarriage, the third while live on the radio and a fourth on the toilet.

Myleene has followed a campaign led by pregnancy charity Tommy’s, as they urge the Government to change the care system for families after a miscarriage.

She’s worked with MP Olivia Blake to push for a debate in Parliament to call for better miscarriage care and said it will be a significant day when the bill is passed.

“We are changing the law – If I disappear off the planet tomorrow, I’ve done my thing, and I’ve done my bit,” Myleene said.

“I’ve got my beautiful babies and they’re going to know that I marched to Parliament with Olivia Blake and it’s taking forever, as does with most things when it comes to government and I understand they are a bit occupied at the moment.

“So hopefully we will get that bill passed. We’re in the second quarter.

“We’re actually putting our money where our mouth is, we took this to the house of parliament. When that bill passes I’ll be there and I’m bringing a tribe with me.”

Myleene recently opened up on her devastating miscarriage in Myleene Klass: Miscarriage and Me, which aired earlier this month on the W channel.

The radio presenter, who had a son, Apollo, in 2019, said: “I have got my baby now but, God, I lost a lot of me. I think it nearly broke me.

“When you’ve been through miscarriage, you’ve been through a battle with your body. You’ve been to war and there are casualties.”

Referring to Simon, she said: “I didn’t want to talk about it as I felt like I’d failed.

“I used to think he must be looking at me like, ‘Why can’t she just do this?’”

She went on to explain how tough it was revisiting her pain for the film.

Myleene explained: “Filming this documentary has to be one of the hardest things I’ve ever done and yet the most powerful and helpful. My family and friends are also in it.

“They were generous and brave enough to trust me with this for which I am eternally grateful. And to my partner Sim. Speaking on behalf of our men and what it feels like for them. Thank you.

“If you have experienced this grief or are going through it right now, you are not alone.”
