Who is Great British Menu finalist Olivia Barry?

OLIVIA Barry is a finalist in BBC Two’s Great British Menu competing for a chance to represent the South West in the regional finals.

Here’s what we know about the young chef from Bristol.

Who is Olivia Barry?

Olivia Barry was born in Bristol and raised with Italian heritage.

She studied to be a chef at Bournemouth College then undertook work experience at London’s St Albans and The Wolseley.

Olivia opened Adelina Yard in Bristol with her partner Jamie Randall in 2015.

The restaurant has 2 AA Rosettes, a Michelin plate and is listed in the Sunday Times Top 100 Restaurants.

What restaurants has Olivia worked in?

Olivia has worked for the Wright brothers, at Galvin Bistro and at Angela Hartnett’s one Michelin-starred Murano.

She also participated in the Great British Menu competition back in 2018.

This year on Great British Menu, Olivia’s dishes has paid tribute to the BBC One drama Casualty and Britain’s national treasure, Sir David Attenborough.

As she scored the highest overall score for her dishes during the competition, she has been selected to represent the South West in the finals.

She competed against fellow South West chefs: Nat Tallents, Charlotte Vincent and Elly Wentworth for the chance to represent the region.

Should Olivia win the competition and make it to the banquet, she will cook for the guests at a party celebrating 100 years of the BBC on April 1, 2022 at 7:30pm.

When is Great British Menu on BBC?

The Great British Menu has been on air since 2006.

This years competition began on February 21, 2022.

The Great British Menu is on BBC Two three times a week with each week dedicated to one region within the UK.

The judges choose one chef to go through to the finals each week of the contest.

The final sees chefs from different regions battling to be crowned winner.
