“My mom called me this morning and let me know that her boyfriend killed her and put her in the refrigerator like a piece of steak,” Sharmane Jackson, Maddox’s cousin, told WJAR.

Police were called to a home in Providence, Rhode Island early Tuesday morning after Maddox’s uncle, Marvin Maddox, was tipped off.

“I was at work and I got a call from one of my friends that said your niece might be in trouble,” he told WJAR.

“We called the police and sure enough, she was upstairs wrapped up in a refrigerator, and they brought him out, and it’s sad, you know, she didn’t deserve to go like that.”

Parents of woman who ‘pushed singing coach to her death’ may be charged

Nathan Cooper, 53, Maddox’s former boyfriend, has been charged in her murder.

He is accused of fatally shooting Maddox and stuffing her body in his refrigerator.

Cooper allegedly had “violent tendencies” towards Maddox, cops told The Providence Journal.

Officials believe Maddox may have been dead for days before her body was discovered.

Family members gathered in a court room on March 23 as Cooper met with a judge, and some could not contain their emotions.

One woman was caught on camera shouting expletives at the accused killer.

“You killed my sister,” the woman screamed at Cooper.

The courtroom then had to be cleared before Cooper could be brought back in. He did not enter a plea and is being held without bail.

A memorial for Maddox had significantly grown in size from Tuesday to Wednesday, according to reports.

Family and friends had gathered to pay tribute to a life cut short.

“I hope she’s in heaven looking down. I hope she’s one of my angels,” Sharmane Johnson said to WJAR.

“Everybody loved her,” Marvin Maddox told the outlet.

“Just know that everybody loved her.”
