WWE to Honor Real Life Hero Who Gave His Life to Save Son
WWE has its own way of honouring legends and heroes. It’s not always a special mention or a Hall of Fame induction.
Therefore, when WWE decided to honour Late Shad Gaspard, the company took a different approach.
Reportedly, the company is honouring Gaspard with the 2022 Warrior Award. And, there is no one else who deserves it more than he does.

Gaspard lost his life in 2020 after he went swimming with his ten year old son. They were swimming near a Venice Beach ocean, and got caught in a strong current. The lifeguards reached them, but he ushered them to save his son first.
Giant waves were crashing down on them, and he couldn’t make it. Tragically, Gaspard lost his life at 39 years old.

Shad Gaspard had a short lived WWE run
Gaspard signed a WWE Developmental Contract in 2003, and worked at Ohio Valley Wrestling. He secured the OVW Tag Team Titles twice with JTG, as a part of Cryme Tyme. Cryme Tyme moved to the main roster in 2006, but WWE released both of them the following year.
Cryme Tyme made a WWE comeback in 2008, but the company released Gaspard in 2010 again.
Following his wrestling career, Shad Gaspard pursued a career in Hollywood where he worked in series and movies.
He did return to the independent circuit in 2011 and continued to work in the independent circuit until his untimely death in 2020. In 2014, Gaspard and JTG reunited as a tag team with the name Crime Time.
Undoubtedly, Gaspard had a whole career ahead of him. His tragic untimely death cast over the wrestling industry like a dark cloud.
While wounds heal and people move on, the impact is never forgotten. Therefore, WWE deciding to honour Shad Gaspard at the Hall of Fame ceremony has been in the works for a while now.
Shad Gaspard, JTG and John Cena formed ‘Cryme Tyme Cenation’.
It was known that WWE would honor Gaspard in some way, but exactly in what way was unknown.
The Warrior Award is the perfect to commemorate Shad Gaspard’s memory and heroic act.
