NBA Twitter Calls BS After Kyrie Irving Makes Promise to Nets Fans About His Future
Kyrie Irving seems to be having one of the most unique seasons of his career. After being told that he will not be allowed to play for the Nets at the start of the season, it didn’t seem like we would get to see Kyrie in action this year. However, things changed, and the Nets allowed Kyrie to play in road games. But he was still unable to play at home.
Kyrie was sensational in the away games and the last month he dropped a 60 and a 50 piece. The Nets looked like title contenders when Kyrie was in the team. And then the Vaccine mandate was lifted and Kyrie has been allowed to play home games. Hearing this, the Nets fans went ecstatic.
But it wasn’t the only piece of good news they received. Kyrie also said that he plans to resign with the Nets next year. He said that he has no plans to leave Kevin Durant, and he intends to form a legacy here with him.

Despite Kyrie committing to resign, the NBA fans were not quite satisfied with it. They went back to his time with the Celtics, where he told he was gonna resign but ended up leaving as a free agent. Here are the best reactions:

Preferably, the Nets should move him – signing him to an extension is going to kneecap this team’s financial flexibility, and it’s obvious this team is not winning a title with this core, especially as Durant ages.

What happened the last time Irving told he would resign?
In his second and final year at the Celtics, Kyrie had announced that he plans on resigning here next year. And this was at the start of the season. The Celtics had just reached the conference finals and were one game away from the NBA finals. And they did this without Kyrie or Gordon Hayward. Everyone had expected the Celtics to go deep with Irving back in the lineup.

But that team never really got going. The young stars who had led the team in the playoffs last year didn’t get along well with Irving and Hayward. There were a lot of issues on that team, and they never looked like a contender.
However, by the playoffs, they had created some identity and were getting along well. But they met the Greek Freak and the Bucks in the second round and they got bounced out, despite winning the first game. Kyrie ended up joining the Nets in the offseason and the Celtics signed Kemba Walker as his replacement.
