I love looking stylish but only shop from supermarket brands – here are my top spring buys from just £13

SPRING has sprung and fashion lovers are desperate to ditch their knitted jumpers for a more spring-appropriate frock.

So if you’re looking for a way to upgrade your wardrobe without going broke, style chaser Emily Firmin says supermarket brands have everything you need.

Emily swears by supermarket brands for a stylish wardrobe including this Tesco dress, £13, Sainsbury’s balzer, 325 and denim dress £22 from tesco

The 41-year-old mum, from Warwickshire has picked out a few spring must-haves and they’re all ASDA, Tesco and Sainsbury’s.

The mum-of-two, who’s a professionally trained makeup artist, shares her bargain finds on her YouTube channel AllTheLadies and insists “it’s possible to be stylish and savvy at the same time.”

“Supermarket fashion has come a LONG way over the years and it’s certainly become more ‘acceptable’ to be donning items from your local store,” she told Fabulous.

“Fashion is a personal thing but for me Sainsburys and Asda have always been ahead of the game.”

Emily, who spends roughly £300 a season on supermarket buys, says this season is about blazers, blouses and wide-legged trousers, and, of course, floral dresses in all forms.

George at Asda

For George at Asda, you can’t go past its denim range which is “versatile enough to wear through the seasons,” Emily says.

“Asda has an extensive denim range. This Spring it’s about light coloured denim shirts, light collared blouses and denim dresses – I have all three in my wardrobe,” she revealed.

One pick you can’t go without is Asda’s light-wash denim shirt which is a bargain at just £16.

“Asdas light denim shirt is ideal for a shopping trip with friends,” she told Fabulous.

In a video shared on her YouTube channel, Emily said it can be worn multiple ways in spring, including as a jacket or a shirt worn open.

Meanwhile, Asda’s denim midi dress, which features balloon sleeves, v-neck and buttons, screams “fashionista” and it’ll only set you back £22.

TU at Sainsbury’s

TU at Sainsbury’s never fails to disappoint either and the supermarket is all about bold prints this season.

Emily says there’s a wide range of animal, floral, nautical stripes, and more hanging from the racks.

“Light knit dresses also feature heavily as they’re super versatile through the seasons,” she said. “I’m an absolute sucker for Sainsbury’s clothing.”

In her video, the fashion fan pointed out a stunning pink and black dress which she says can be styled in various ways.

Emily first styled it with a jacket and black boots, perfect for days that are a little chilly.

But the dress, which is £22, can also be worn on its own with a pair of strappy sandals or heels, perfect for the warmer weather.

You also can’t go wrong with an oversized blazer and Sainsbury’s has a stylish grey one for £25.

“You can wear it with anything,” the mum-of-two said, who paired it with jeans and a collared white shirt.

If you’re looking for something a little fun, Tu’s Parisian dog shirt is a must, and it’s only £14.

“The Parisian inspired loose cotton blouse is perfect for a Spring brunch,” she told Fabulous.

F&F at Tesco

If you’re needing to upgrade your spring/summer dresses, it seems F&F at Tesco is where it’s at.

“Tescos have always been great at Spring/Summer dresses,” Emily said. “We’re still seeing the square neck-line in abundance which is flattering to all body shapes.”

But if you’re more of a trousers girl, Tesco has you covered as Emily raved about the brand’s linen trousers.

Midi and maxi dresses can be picked up for as little as £16, while a monochrome pair of loose-fitting trousers will set you back just £13.

Trousers, she says, are ideal for spring because they can be worn with a cami when it’s warm or a roll neck when the weather’s still a little cool.

What’s more, they can be dressed up with sandals or heels, or down with trainers, so they’re a versatile addition to your wardrobe.

Emily previously revealed how to nab chic outfits for just $5.

Meanwhile, a fashion stylist revealed how to dress for your shape and the staples you need to buy now.

Plus a fashion fanatic revealed she only buys clothes from Morrisons – these are my top purchases to be on-trend right now.
