Netflix is home to must-see TV shows, like Bridgerton and The Crown, plus Oscar-nominated movies like The Power of the Dog and Don’t Look Up.

So it isn’t surprising if subscribers are reluctant to cancel their plans – news that the streaming site will be increasing its prices.

But how much does the subscription set you back every month?

Here’s a rundown of what Netflix currently costs in the UK.

How much does Netflix cost in the UK?

Earlier in March, Netflix announced that it would be increasing the price of its plans by £1 for both new and existing customers.

Netflix’s Basic plan, which allows you to watch on one screen at a time in Standard Definition, now costs customers £6.99.

Their Standard plan now costs £10.99 per month, and allows you and someone else with access to your account the opportunity to tune in with two different screens at the same time, as well as watch content in High Definition.

The Premium plan is the most expensive and now costs £15.99. This gives you the ability to stream on four screens at the same time in HD and Ultra HD.

The price increases have already been applied to new customers, while existing customers will be notified 30 days before they go into effect.

When announcing the price increase, a Netflix spokesperson said: ‘We have always been focused on providing our members both quality and clear value for their membership.

‘Our updated prices reflect the investment we have made in our service and catalogue, and will allow us to continue making the series, documentaries and films our members love as well as investing in talent and the creative industry.

‘We offer a range of plans so members can choose a price that works best for them.’
