‘My Level Will Be Much Better’- Stan Wawrinka Confident of Rise in Level Ahead of French Open 2022
Swiss tennis star Stan Wawrinka has cemented his name in the history books of this elegant sport. For a number of years, he lived under the shadows of his compatriot – Swiss Maestro Roger Federer.
Sadly, the former World No. 3 player has been suffering from injuries that have kept him out of action for a while. Wawrinka made his return back on the courts after almost a year at the ATP Challenger event in Marbella.
Stan Wawrinka believes in himself
Although he lost the match, Stan remained optimistic about his chances as there is still a lot of tennis left this season. He feels that he would be in a much better position ahead of the French Open as he is slated to appear in a number of clay events prior to Roland Garros.
“I know that my level will be much better at Roland-Garros, there is still a lot of time to prepare for the tournament, so for sure I will show a much better shape. I am not worried about Roland-Garros nor Wimbledon.”

Reflecting on his career, Wawrinka displayed some of his best tennis from 2014 to 2016. During these years, he managed to win three Grand Slams at different venues. He beat players such as Nadal and Djokovic to win the respective majors.
When he won his first Grand Slam title at the Australian Open in 2014, he defeated Djokovic in the semifinal and went on to beat Nadal in the final.

Wawrinka got the better off Djokovic
Post that, he beat the Serb in the final of the French Open in 2015. In the following year, he was involved in a thrilling contest against Djokovic and earned a well-deserved win at the 2016 US Open.
Fans have witnessed the sheer greatness that the Swiss ace displayed over the years. At the moment, we wish him the best of luck in the tournaments ahead and hope to see him compete at the highest level again.
