“Has an Excuse for Every LBJ Failure”: NBA Fans Unite in “God” Kevin Durant’s Defense After He Gets Bashed on Career High Night vs Trae Young’s Hawks

Kevin Durant is one of the best shooters in the history of the NBA. Now a 13 year NBA veteran, KD has maintained his top-notch basketball every season. KD surely comes under the very few elite players to grace the basketball court. This season also he has outshone from expectations and is having his best season since his 2013-14 season.

On Saturday night, KD showed his class once again. He hit his career high 55 points with 8 three pointers but it was in vain. The Brooklyn Nets are in quite a pickle and it would be fair to say that it was a worrisome performance when, even after KD’s 55, they could not manage to win.

The Atlanta Hawks won despite KD’s inspired performance. Trea Young’s side worked as a team. Although only Young had 36 points, each, and every player scored enough points to grab a win. Whereas only KD and Kyrie Irving performed for the Nets with Kyrie hitting 31. To be fair to the Nets, the credit has to go to the Hawks that they managed a victory even after excellent performances from both star players of Brooklyn. The fans were in support of KD after the Nets fell short despite his best efforts.

NBA fans defend Kevin Durant after Nick Wright once again called shots at KD

This was not the first time that Nick Wright had called out KD. He earlier also said that KD would also be the second best player in the league. KD reacted to the earlier tweet, and it was a proper exchange between the two when KD self proclaimed himself as a ‘God’. Nick Wright once again called him the second best.

Even on the night KD gets his career high, he comes in… second place.

Tough times.

This time around, the fans came to the rescue of KD after he dropped a career high performance.

That’s the play book and it can’t only be reserved for Lebron so KD gone get it too and I love it

Do you know how many times LeBron has hit that shot and won games? What are you even talking about?

— J.L.Ford (@iamjlford) April 3, 2022

KD has as well. Im sayin that u was makin and excuse why he missed the shot wen the samething happened to KD a few games ago and he got killed for missing both GW shots. Both are great players and capable of making a shot even while double teamed or triple teamed

— Avery Siples (@millcreek_kid21) April 3, 2022

This guy is turning into skip with Lebron lol

— Yahya (@Yahya200219) April 3, 2022

The fans compared Nick’s treatment towards KD to Skip Bayless’ treatment with LeBron James. It is quite similar.

KD along with LeBron has been one of the best players since their respective debuts. This season, interestingly, after KD’s 55 point game KD and LeBron have averaged 30.1 and 30.3 points per game this season. However KD does not qualify for the scoring title.

KD has been one of the best players in the last decade and only the quality of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving can guarantee a play-in spot for the Brooklyn Nets who desperately need momentum.
