Conor McGregor Responds Hysterically to Kamaru Usman’s ‘First Love’

You can always bet on Conor McGregor to make the news in a flashy way. The Irishman’s excellent counter-punching, stand-up game tenacity for entertainment, and banter are what make his fights.

‘The Notorious‘ last fought in the octagon at UFC 264 against Dustin Poirier and saw his leg snap in the first round. The freak accident had McGregor sidelined for almost a year, but he talked of a return to the octagon.

McGregor stated that he wanted champion Charles ‘Do Bronx‘ Oliveira for his octagon return.

Just when people thought that was surprising, McGregor landed a bigger bomb. He stated that he wanted to fight Kamaru Usman for his welterweight title in his return to the octagon.

McGregor has been talking a lot against Usman, and he continued to do so with this tweet.

In response to “MY REAL LOVE” by Usman, McGregor tweeted a laughing emoji. He might have tweeted a laughing emoji alone, but they speak volumes about what he wants to say.

Conor McGregor has been a critic of Usman’s wrestling-heavy style and the tweet can be seen as a continuation of that mockery. 

McGregor, who has held titles at featherweight and lightweight, feels that he’s better prepped for a third belt in the welterweight division compared to lightweight gold. 

Is Conor McGregor Stepping into the labyrinth of Nightmares? 

Kamaru Usman has been given his nickname, ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ for a good reason. The Nigerian is known for his dominance in the octagon, having virtually cleared out the division in his path to the welterweight throne.

In his absolute prime, Usman has never looked better. On the other hand, Conor McGregor, who is coming back from back-to-back losses and from an injury, has won only once since UFC 205.

He’s been trying to bait Usman into accepting his callout by criticizing his fighting style and wrestling prowess.

Given the names that Usman has conquered, it may not be a good stylistic fight and McGregor could potentially be entering the labyrinth of nightmares if ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ accepts.
