Emma Willis recalls husband Matt’s very romantic proposal in Venice – after she feared he was going to dump her

EMMA Willis has revealed husband Matt was so nervous proposing that she thought he was going to dump her.

The TV presenter sensed something was about to happen when the Busted star was plucking up the courage to ask her to marry him.

But she had no idea he had planned the whole trip to pop the question.

Opening up on The One Show, Emma said: “We were in Venice and it was my birthday and he kept wanting to go on walks down little canals which is really not kind of Matt really.

“He went really quiet and I actually thought he was going to finish with me.”

She went on: “Then we got to the Rialto Bridge and we got to the top and he looked at me and he pulled this box out of his pocket and he went to kind of drop on one knee and I just went, ‘Don’t you dare’ and grabbed him.”

“Don’t do it here, everyone’s looking!” she said.

“But he did do it and it was lovely,” added the star.

The 45-year-old TV presenter and Busted singer, 38, tied the knot on 5th July, 2008, and have three children together, Isabelle, 11, Ace, nine, and Trixie, five.
